Senior Front End Developer

We have big ambitions for continued growth and innovation and are looking for a a self starter who is able to translate business requirements and customer journeys in technical features through high quality code. We are now looking for a Senior Front End Developer who will be engaged in multiple software engineering projects of varying sizes using modern technology to help create cutting-edge software applications and products for us! With a strong emphasis on hands on coding and development.

Successful candidates will have extensive software development or a software engineering background and will most likely be familiar with common programming tools such as Redux, IDEs, RESTful APIs, Git repositories, TypeScript, version control software, and remote deployment tools, as well as knowledge of web frameworks and used JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML5 and CSS.

What you will be doing;

• Writing and maintaining high quality code, using best coding practices mostly in font end technologies JavaScript, TypeScript and ReactJS.
• Discussing and translating technical issues with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business.
• Play a key role in the design, development and commercialization of software aimed at disrupting the pet ecosystem

• Participate in design and code reviews

• Communicating progress, updates, risks with the rest of the team

• Contributing to the documentation / knowledge base, using relevant tooling

• Ensure that every application undergoes testing for usability, robustness, and general reliability

Skills:

• Senior experience in React, Hooks
• Senior development experience
• Ability to build well tested, reusable, React components
• JavaScript (ES6+)
• Strong understanding of Git
• HTML, SCSS,
• Accessibility exposure a plus (WCAG 2.0)
• Experience working with Jira in an agile environment a must
• Understanding of CI/CD an advantage
• Understanding of Server Side Rendering an advantage
• Jest, Cypress, GitLab, NodeJS an advantage
• Ability to work solo but also as part of a team sharing larger projects
• Remote work available
• Knowledge of hybrid app tools a plus – Phonegap, Cordova etc
• Knowledge/experience of BEM
• Component Library experience, such as Storybook (nice to have)
• Proven experience of mentoring/supporting team
